The Schaumburg Park District is seeking enthusiastic 13 to 15-year-olds who want to become leaders and potential staff members. Applicants must be 13 years old by Sept. 1, 2012.
This fun experience is a great way to introduce the concept of employment responsibilities to teens. Junior leaders will interact with young children, peers and adults in a work setting. Junior Leader positions are available for Safety Park, tot and sports programs, swim lessons and more. There will be a required fee of $20/$30 for the Junior Leader program. The fee is payable when registering for a Junior Leader interview or a returning Junior Leader information night. Non-resident registration begins March 12.
New Applicants
- Complete the Junior Leader application available below, or at Community Recreation Center, Pat Shephard Center and Meineke Recreation Center after March 2.
- Submit the required application and two recommendation forms before Friday, March 23 to: Kathy Moulds, Pat Shephard Center, 421 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg, IL 60194.
- Register for one of the group interviews on April 3, 9 or 10. The $20/$30 registration fee for the interview is a required fee for all Junior Leader participants.
- Teens will receive written notice of their application status the week of April 30. Accepted teens will receive placement process information.
- All individuals chosen to be a Junior Leaders must register for the mandatory kick-off meeting on June 2.

Returning Junior Leaders
If you are interested in returning to the Junior Leader program, there is no need to re-apply. If you do not receive a letter by March 2, contact the Pat Shephard Center at 847/490-7036. Returning leaders must register online for one of the information nights on April 3, 9 and 10 and the mandatory kick-off meeting on June 2. The $20/$30 registration fee for information night is a required fee for all 2012 Junior Leader participants. Bring a completed Junior Leader Commitment Form for Returning Junior Leaders (available below) to the Information Night.

Junior Leaders must register for the kick-off training meeting on Saturday, June 2 from 9AM to noon at the
Community Recreation Center. Training will include winning interview techniques presented by Jim Black from Image Builders, mini training sessions and a pizza lunch. Parents must attend a mandatory meeting at 11:30AM.
